Ogden Canyon Waterline Project Alert:

SR-39 in Ogden Canyon will be open to all traffic on the evenings of Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 to accommodate the Memorial Day traffic.

There is a 30-hour water shutoff scheduled to begin at 5:00pm on Monday, May 27.  This water shutoff will only impact the homes in phases 3 and 4 of the construction.

SR-39 in Ogden Canyon will be closed to all through traffic on the evenings of Monday, May 27, and Tuesday, May 28, from 9pm to 5am the following morning.  The location of this closure is just below the filter plant at the east end of the canyon.

Ogden Canyon Waterline Rehabilitation

(Update: May 24, 2013)

At a glance...

  • Night-time closure hours are as follows:
    • Sunday night through Friday morning: 9pm - 5am
    • Friday night through Saturday morning: 10pm - 6am
    • Saturday night: no closure
  • These night closures will allow the contractor full use of the road to stage equipment and material, thus allowing the project to progress more quickly.
  • Emergency vehicles and local traffic (Ogden Canyon residents) will still be allowed to travel on SR-39 during the night time closures, though there will still be some delays at the construction zones.
  • Contractor has completed the third phase of construction, and is currently working in Phase 4.

During the day, drivers should expect delays similar to what they are have been experiencing during the first leg of construction, as the project continues to move up the canyon. Only one lane will be open throughout the majority of the project, which is expected to reach substantial completion in late June 2013.  In case of inclement weather, please anticipate longer delays than usual.

Please remember that the local businesses in the Canyon and in Ogden Valley are still open, and gladly welcome your patronage.  Please help the local economy by supporting the local businesses.
